The fifth meeting between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson was again canceled as another contender in the form of Justin Gaethje has agreed to step in to face Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight championship on April 18.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, countries like Russia has imposed lockdown and the ultimate reason to hinder the unavailability of Khabib because his team went home in Dagestan after the promotion failed to give specific details about the event.
Now, UFC President Dana White has announced that the match between Ferguson and Gaethje is now official, using his Twitter account to announce the news.
Besides from the new main event that will be headlining, a full card was also released to somehow cheer up the mood of their fans after yet another fall out for the most anticipated match up in the promotion’s history.
Meanwhile, Gaethje expressed his nervousness and excitement shortly after the announcement was made.
However, the final venue for the event was not disclosed yet and White instead said that it will be ‘somewhere on EARTH!’.
