In the most unexpected turn of events last NBA draft lottery, the New Orleans Pelicans won the right to pick the best talent in this year’s class of youngsters which is obviously Duke’s sensation Zion Williamson.
The reason for his hype is not only confined around his highlight reel dunks and athletic defensive plays but also his decent statistical number of 22.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 33 games as a Blue Devil plus the impact he gives to a team.
However recent reports have spread like a wildfire throughout the internet wherein various sources released news that Zion preferred to be picked in New York Knicks who fall into the third pick order this year thus unlikely to get Williamson.
Adding spice to these reports are sports pundits and analyst that are suggesting different alternatives on how Zion can be granted of his preference to call Madison Square Garden home : first, take out his name out of the draft and play another year for Duke (or play for the United States national team in the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup at China in August) and second request a trade out of New Orleans after being drafted.
But all of the smoke crowding these reports and suggestions of how the 6-7, 285-pound forward would get his professional basketball career rolling was cleared in the cool thin air when Shams Charania of The Athletic spilled an information that Zion Williamson had positive meeting with the Pelicans and it is a “targeted team to start career”.
