Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey have turned down the speculations about All-Star and future hall of famer Chris Paul wanting a trade out of the team due to his “unsalvageable” relationship with James Harden.

Vince Goodwill of Yahoo Sports reported some details regarding the turmoil between the two ace players. He said that Paul and Harden hasn’t spoke for nearly two months after their Western Conference Finals defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors in 2018.

Adding salt to the injury is Harden’s call of “him or me” situation with Paul which prompts the front office to choose only one player to retain for the next season.

But General Manager Morey played down the reports through ESPN saying that the tension was all about getting from frustrated of not winning a title.

We have two high-level competitors, Chris and James, who their only goal in life at this point is to win the title. They’ve accomplished everything else, they are both going to be first-ballot Hall of Famers. Two competitive superstars at that level, there’s going to be times when they are extremely competitive, extremely focused on how do we get to that next level, and when we don’t there’s going to be frustration, I’m frustrated, our top players are frustrated, Mike D’Antoni is frustrated. We want to take the last step and be the champion and I think it’s good that there is tension in the sense that we all want to win.

Chris Paul and him were both shocked about the news and commented on an Instagram post:
