The intensity of last night’s game was carried over in tonight’s game where another thriller was witnessed.
The Golden State Warriors sailed past the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 4 with a 119-117 overtime win and advance to their 5th consecutive NBA Finals.
Stephen Curry and Draymond Green were the first teammates in NBA playoff history to record both a triple double in the same game. Curry stuffed the stat sheet with 37 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists while Green got his 8th playoff career triple double of 18 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.
Klay Thompson (17 points), Alfonzo McKinnie (12 points) and Kevon Looney had their fair share of double digit scoring to help the team who are still missing three key players namely Kevin Durant, Demarcus Cousins and Andre Igoudala. They have won six straight playoff games (dating back from the second round encounter against Houston in Game 5) and will enter the Finals on a very high note.
Portland on the other hand are eliminated in the postseason for the sixth consecutive time but should held their heads up high because of that six playoff appearances, this is the farthest they have reached since 2000. Also they won two series over Oklahoma City Thunder in 5 games and survived the Denver Nuggets in 7 games (including two elimination games).
Meyers Leonard achieved his playoff career high of 30 points (plus 12 boards and 3 dimes), with Damian Lillard finishing off his season putting up 28 points, distributing 12 assists and collecting 4 rebounds. CJ McCollum gave his best effort also, producing 26 points, 7 assists and 2 rebounds. Wrapping up the scoring for the Blazers is Zach Collins with 10 in total.
Golden State will now await their opponent from either the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors who are still battling in the Eastern Conference Finals with the Bucks leading the series, 2 games to 1.
